The History of Fleet Ops

The words of Steve - FleetOps Webmaster:

"Well, in the days when Armada I was still in development, I had a small fansite for that game, 'The Armada Outpost'. I was probably the biggest fan of the first game, lol. when I heard about Armada II, I immediately started to put together a fansite for it. I wanted to make a site for people to go to for the latest news on the game. When Armada I was in development, I remember every day scanning about 20 sites trying to find Armada news, and I wanted to make a site that would take all the news of Armada II and put it into one place for people to go and look to find the latest news on the game. Fleet Operations has since grown considerably. I now have 2 new staff members, Wombit and Fran. Wombit was the person who was kind enough to create our new design, and has helped considerably with the site content."

The History of Planet Star Trek Armada

The words of ChessMess - PlanetSTArmada Webmaster:

"Planet ST: Armada actually began its life as a cooperative effort between a fellow Armada player named Rishenko (often referred to as Rish) and myself shortly after the release of Armada 1 back in late 1999. Back then the site was going to be called 'Spatial Anomaly' and our vision was to create a site dedicated to the strategy side of the game. The original site layout was developed by Rish.

Well time passed and we both got pulled away from Armada for awhile, and drifted apart as a result. Rish was very busy with other things and I got hooked on a new FPS game called Unreal Tournament. So the site languished for several months and it appeared that it would never make it out of the development stage to see the light of day.

Heading into the colder months of 2000 I tired of UT and returned to playing Armada 1, my favorite RTS game. Early in 2001 I once again looked at reviving the site however my goals for the site had expanded greatly. Rather than focus on just strategy I wanted the site to become a one-stop-shop for all things Armada related. As I slowly began to make this a reality Armada II was announced. I quickly decided to change the direction of the site once again to focus first and foremost on Armada II, and during slow periods build up the information related to Armada 1."

The Great Merge

The words of Trickster:

September 16th 2003

"Armada Universe set out to be the number one Armada II site and to provide fans with exclusive news on Armada II, which it did with great vigour.

What the future will be for this site is anyone's guess. It would be a great pleasure to bring you exclusive news on Armada III, may be in an alternate universe somewhere. For now though Armada Universe will remain the Ultimate Resource for Star Trek: Armada & Star Trek: Armada II.

We hope you got what you came for."
