The Hirogen are a nomadic warrior race native to the Delta Quadrant with advanced technology including a communications relay stretching almost as far as the Alpha Quadrant. A Hirogen Warship was pulled into the dampening field of The Forge where they joined forces with a Klingon Bird-of-Prey, Malon waste barge and a Terran Empire starship to raid vessels in the area for supplies. When the USS Voyager's Hazard Team infiltrated the scavenger's base of operations to secure Isodesium to restore power to thir vessel, the Hirogen Alpha tracked Ensign Munro throughout the mission, eventually attacking him with a Tetryon Gatling Gun when Munro attempted to escape from the base.
