From Star Trek Game Information
This is the second part of an interview with Angel that took place on the 21st June 2002. The screenshots shown below are from the Star Trek v Star Wars modification for Star Trek: Armada.
Armada Universe: How did the idea of doing a Star Trek v Star Wars Total Conversion come about?
Angel: It seemed like a good idea at the time.
Armada Universe: How many team members do you have? Can you tell us what role each person in the team has?
Angel: There have been many members over the past; the core team has always been myself, Stalker and Sim Rex. I design and implement all the Star Trek sides, Stalker does the Star Wars sides, and Sim Rex is a jack of all trades type doing odf work, modelling, voiceovers etc.
Armada Universe: Who has contributed to StvSw so far?
Angel: Many people from all over the Armada community. Too many to list.

Armada Universe: What stage is the mod at?
Angel: Demo stage. Lots of work to be done yet for the full version.
Armada Universe: Will there be a demo?
Angel: Sometime soon.
Armada Universe: What is the expected release date for StvSw?
Angel: *aims P90* You should really move on with that line of questioning.

Armada Universe: What races/sides are going to be in the mod?
Angel: Star Trek: Federation, Klingons and Romulans. Star Wars: New Republic, Imperials and Yuuzhan Vong. The Romulans and Yuuzhan Vong will not be playable in the Demo.
Armada Universe: Is there a specific timeline for the mod?
Angel: After the Dominion war for the Star Trek Universe, a few years after the Battle of Endor in the Star Wars Universe.
Armada Universe: How realistic/cannon is the mod?
Angel: We've tried to make things as realistic as possible, but our motto is Balance before Realism. Balance is our number 1 priority and we will not hesitate to sacrifice realism for the sake of the mod being balanced. For example, if you think the Prometheus is hideously overpowered or underpowered, then that's tough because I designed it to fit the role I gave it and balance it against the other races equivalent Starships.
Armada Universe: Can you tell us about some of the features in StvSw?
Angel: That would be telling :)
Armada Universe: What features in Armada II are you taking advantage of?
Angel: Star Wars warheads can now be targeted and will go to their assigned targets, Gravity Wells, and a few other things you'll find out soon enough.
Armada Universe: Is there any feature you would have liked to have seen in Armada II that would have been good to use in StvSw?
Angel: Planetary and Orbital Defenses. More realistic control over Hull strength rather than it relating to Shield Strength. The ability to create entire new classlabels so we can design any weapon we want to do whatever we want, and most of all, we would've loved to have been able to have Fighters launch from Capital Ships.

Armada Universe: Have you come up with any new designs for either the Star Trek or Star Wars sides?
Angel: There will be little difference in what makes up the sides from the first ST vs SW, at least in the Demo. There will be new ships, structures and weapons available to all sides, Star Wars will mostly benefit from this as both the New Republic and Imperial sides will get up to 10 new ships a side in the full version.
Armada Universe: Are there any web sites you visited for information on the ships of Star Trek and Star Wars?
Angel: Only from our memories. Anything we've searched for is usually for reference material when modding or doing our 2D artwork.
Armada Universe: What has been the best and worst parts of making StvSw so far?
Angel: Best: The reaction from our fans. I was taken aback about how well the first ST vs SW was received and how popular it actually got.
Worst: The time it takes to make it. So many delays due to lack of modellers.
[shameless plea] If you're a good modeller and you have a lots of time on your hands, please contact either Stalker or me. The ST vs SW team needs you! [/shameless plea]
Armada Universe: What are your favourite models you have created so far?
Angel: Our new Imperial Star Destroyer model is by far the best model made to date.
Armada Universe: Have you come across any problems that have slowed or stopped the progress of your mod?
Angel: As mentioned before, most of our delays has been in the modelling department where we have a lack of modellers.
Armada Universe: What else can we expect to see that will eventually be included in StvSw?
Angel: Wait and see.
Armada Universe: Can we look forward to any surprises that you have not mentioned yet?
Angel: Yes.
Armada Universe: Is there anyone you would like to thank for their input into StvSW?
Angel: The Armada community for all its support to us and to those who have personally assisted the team with the mod since its birth nearly 2 years ago.
