[edit] Star Trek: Birth of the Federation[edit] Class I Science VesselThe Oberth Class is designed for a single purpose: exploration. It carries an efficient warp drive, and extended fuel supply, sophisticated sensors and an onboard laboratory. The crew is largely composed of scientists and should not be expected to perform well in combat.
[edit] Class II Science VesselThis new variant of the Oberth Class design is more durable and has better armaments in the event of a chance encounter with hostile aliens.
