ViewsStar Trek Armada Multiplayer via Kali.netFrom Star Trek Game InformationThe following outline how to download and use the software necessary to play Star Trek: Armada 1 on Kali.net. [edit] Kali Downloading InstructionsGoto www.Kali.Net and click Download Kali Now. Select a hosting server to obtain the software. Once installed you will be given the option to buy or to register. Enter your details and 3 codes will be sent to your e-mail address. Enter these codes in the fields provided and youre done. The software will scan your computer and find all games that can be played through Kali. Now I have 3 computers at home and 1 of them only works with Kali once, it then crashes at the Menu screen. If you uninstall Armada and reinstall, it will work once more and then crash again. If this happens to you take my advice 1. Copy the C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada\Add On directory (this contains all of your downloaded maps) 2. Uninstall Armada 3. Install a fresh copy of Armada 4. Copy the Add on directory back to its original location 5. Run Armada once and go to the options screen and set your resolution etc up 6. Make a copy of the C:\Program Files\Activision\Star Trek Armada Folder Now that you have done this you can play Armada on Kali once. You will then need to delete the original Star Trek Armada folder and copy your copied folder. Making sure you rename the new copy Star Trek - Armada If this all seems too long winded but you like playing armada then e-mail me at exit52000@yahoo.co.uk and I will send you a batch file I have created that will delete and copy the directories automatically. The batch file takes about 1 - 2 minutes depending on the speed of you machine. Alternatively ask the people playing on Kali whether they have had similar problems. They may be able to give you a better solution.
[edit] Playing Armada on KaliOnce you have installed Kali you will notice that there is a Games lobby on the left hand side of your screen. Click here and it will list all games on your computer that can be played on Kali. Star Trek Armada should be listed here. Click on any open Lobbies or create your own. When you are ready to play click the play Icon at the top of your screen. When the game is launched by the host Armada will load and display the Menu screen. Click Multiplayer and then Click the IPX option. If you have hosted a game then you will now need to create one. If you have joined a game that was hosted by someone else then wait in the lobby for up to 2 mins for the hosted game to appear in the list. If when you launch Armada the game crashes then there are a number of solutions. Right Click on Armada in the Games Lobby. Click Configure and under Advanced Games Options, check the Alternate Winsock option. If the game still crashes then please see the separate article. |
